Introduction

John Taylor funded and took 5 years to create, and was unveiled in 2008 by Professor Stephen Hawking. The Corpus Clock is a unique clock comprised of a time-consuming "Chronophage" in the form of a golden grasshopper, reminding people of the brevity of life through its mottled gold and plasma appearance. Every minute, the grasshopper's jaw opens once and its eyes flicker randomly. After 15 minutes, it raises its stinger, fatal once per hour. The flickering LED lights will change to a fast rhythm, as if chasing time. This clock is an attraction that is a must-see, especially in Cambridge.
