Introduction

Este Castle is located in the center of Ferrara and is a medieval building with a moat. The castle was built by Nicola d'Este in the late 14th century to protect his family from unrest. After the 15th century, the castle became the family's residence and has been preserved to this day. The castle is tall and striking, with various rooms inside including a kitchen, garden, and game room. However, the most impressive part of the castle is the low prison. In contrast, the rooms upstairs are spacious and bright, decorated with exquisite murals. The classical columns in the courtyard and at the entrance and the marble balcony on the roof give a sense of Renaissance breeze. Today, it has become a iconic building of Ferrara and a witness to history and culture.
