Originally a private residence of the Duchess Martha, the mansion was transferred to the city of Venice in 1899. According to her will, it was transformed into an art gallery and artist studios. Today it serves as the location of the International Art Gallery and the Oriental Art Museum, featuring both masterpieces and works by contemporary artists, as well as a rich collection of Japanese art and crafts.
