Introduction

Margaret Bridge, spanning the Danube River, is a large bridge in the northern center of Budapest, connecting Buda and Pest. The bridge was designed by engineer Ernest Goüin, and his company built the bridge between 1872 and 1876. Margaret Bridge is Budapest's second permanent bridge, after the Széchenyi Chain Bridge. The bridge is divided into two parts and is at 165 degrees angle with a small bridge leading to Margaret Island in the middle.
