    Introduction

Danube Shoes is a memorial corridor to commemorate the Jews who were killed by Hungarian fascist militiamen during World War II. Before being executed, the victims were ordered to stand by the Danube River, take off their shoes, and then shot. The bodies were then washed away by the Danube River.
