The oldest theatre in ancient Greece was named after the god of wine Dionysus. It was built in the 5th century BC and underwent several renovations. Today, it still stands in Greece. The diameter of the circular stage is 19.60 meters, and the seating capacity is 14,000 people. Ancient Athenians loved theatre, and many famous ancient playwrights performed their plays there.
