The Columbus Monument, built in 1888 to celebrate the World's Fair, stands at 60 meters tall and features a statuesque likeness of the explorer Christopher Columbus, who helped establish Spain's maritime supremacy. Climbing to the top of the tower provides breathtaking views of both the Port of Barcelona and the famous La Rambla boulevard, especially as the sun sets over the city.
