Temple of Hadrian, A Sanctuary of Mythical Sculptures and Majesty
4.4
Introduction
Christ Street is home to numerous historic landmarks, with the most exquisite architecture being the Temple of Hadrian. The temple was built in ancient times and was used during the Roman Empire to worship Emperor Hadrian. It is a temple that epitomizes the typical Corinthian architectural style, with different mythological figures carved on its inner wall columns. One side of the carvings represents the Greek era, while the other side depicts characters from the Amazon women's country. In the sculpture on the front of the inner wall, the image of the snake-haired witch Medusa is depicted very realistically. Such sculptures are seen as symbols of protection for the temple, highlighting its grandeur and grandiosity.
