Introduction
The Castello di Bellinzona is a fortress built in the 15th century by the Duke of Milan to defend against the Swiss Confederacy. In 1500, the defensive structure was peacefully transferred to the Swiss Confederacy in exchange for mercenary services. Today, the castle is still well-preserved and is renowned as an important witness to the medieval defense system in the Alpine region. Opening hours Museum opening hours: Monday to Sunday from 10:00 to 19:00 in July and August.
