Introduction

Munot Castle is a circular fortress located at the highest point of the city of Schaffhausen. It was built between 1564 and 1589 and has become a symbol of Schaffhausen due to its unique design and spectacular views. Standing on the battlements, you can enjoy magnificent natural scenery. Every night at 9 PM, the Munot sentinel living in the tower will ring the Munot bell, which is a signal for the town gates and small taverns to close.
