Introduction

In the Swiss Alps, there is a railway tunnel from Alpnachstad on the shores of Lake Lucerne to the peak of Pilatus, which is the only passage to the peak. This railway was built in 1889 by 600 brave Italian workers and locals led by engineer Eduard Locher. The slope can reach 48 degrees, and it is still known as the "steepest cogwheel mountain railway in the world". Tourists can choose to take a train or cable car and enjoy the beautiful scenery along the way, from sunny meadows at the foot of the mountain, to lush green grasslands, towering trees, and snowy peaks, finally reaching the Pilatus mountain top station. The whole process is full of unparalleled scenery, which is awe-inspiring.
