Introduction

The St. Leodegar Church is located in the north of Lake Lucerne and is one of the most important churches in the city. The building was first constructed in 735 AD in Romanesque style, and was later transformed into Gothic style in the 14th century. In the 17th century, the church suffered severe damage from a fire and was subsequently rebuilt in the Renaissance style. The Hofkirche also houses one of the world's largest organs.
