Introduction

The Norwegian Parliament building, located in the center of Oslo, was built on August 3, 1860 and completed on March 5, 1866, designed by Swedish architect Emil Victor Langlet. The main body is made of yellow brick structure, with details and base made of light gray granite. The architectural style blends French and Italian inspiration. The Norwegian Parliament is the highest legislative institution in the country, established in 1814. In 1866, the parliament began its work in the newly built parliament building, and the parliamentary system was formally implemented in 1884.
