Introduction

The St. Barbara's Church in Kutná Hora represents the late Gothic architectural style, comparable to St. Vitus Cathedral in Prague, and is particularly striking in the whole city. The church's nave is lofty and elegant, with a magnificent scale. The construction of the church began in 1380, but was forced to stop due to the outbreak of the Hussite Wars. In 1558, the church was abandoned due to the depletion of silver mines. After centuries of changes, it was finally completed in the late 19th century with a new Gothic style, becoming a brilliant gem.
