Introduction

St. Vitus Cathedral is the oldest, largest, and most luxurious church in the old town area, built in the early 14th century. As the center of faith for the locals, it played an important role in the city's development. This Gothic-style cathedral is one of the most important buildings in Czech Republic, combining Baroque style and towering over the Vltava River with its spectacular and grandeur. The spire of the church soars into the sky, with 15th-century murals, the tomb of William and his wife Rosenbergs, and a Baroque organ built in 1716 inside. In addition, the stone pillars, sanctuary, and beautiful dome are also worth visiting. The main area of St. Vitus Cathedral spans the entire Krumlov Territory, symbolizing the powerful influence of its immortal ruling forces and domain.
