Introduction

The St. George's Basilica located within the Prague Castle was built in 920 AD, and is one of the most important examples of Romanesque architecture in Prague. The church was destroyed by fire in 1142, but later rebuilt. In the late 17th century, the Baroque facade of the basilica was completed. It is the burial place of Vratislaus II of Bohemia, and Boleslaus II of Bohemia. Today, the building has been converted into a concert hall.
