Introduction

The De Valk Windmill is one of the iconic buildings in Leiden, showcasing the magical charm of wind energy conversion. The complex includes three windmills, with the earliest post mill dating back to 1611. Later, it was replaced by a wooden hood mill in 1667, and the current stone windmill was built in 1743. Climbing up to the top of the windmill, one can overlook the beautiful scenery of Leiden city. The windmill is a historic landmark and a symbol of advanced technology in the Netherlands, worth a visit.
