Introduction

Dominicanen Bookstore is a chain bookstore located in the city center of Maastricht, Netherlands, with its most famous branch located inside a historic church. The bookstore was renovated from an 800-year-old church and won the Lensvelt Interior Architect Award in 2007, and was named the world's most beautiful bookstore by The Guardian. Although there are branches of this bookstore in major cities in the Netherlands, this branch is the most popular in Maastricht.

Transportation

Recommended way to arrive: walking. Upon leaving Maastricht Railway Station, walk towards the river and cross the Wihelminabrug bridge to reach Markt, one of the city's attractions. Continue walking through Markt and it will be easy to find the Boekhandel Dominicanen bookstore. It is located between Markt and another attraction, Vrijthof, and takes approximately 15 minutes to walk. By car: take bus 3, 4, or 10 from Station bus stop to Helmstraat stop; or take buses 3 or 4 to Vrijthof stop.
