Introduction
Lucas Bols founded the Bols Distillery in the Netherlands in 1575, making it one of the oldest distilleries in the world. The founder built a small wooden hut by a river in the outskirts of Amsterdam to store various spices brought back by seafaring merchants as ingredients for making liquor. Bols has always been experimenting with new spices, herbs and exotic fruits to make cocktails. After a long process of selection and experimentation, the Bols Liqueur series was finally born and is now loved by people worldwide, with 31 flavors available.
The Bols House has a special exhibition room showcasing the Dutch traditional house models specially designed for the Royal Dutch Airlines by using Delft Blue. These unique gifts have been presented to the airline's business class passengers and now there are 92 different models available. Each model is a flexible representation of a Dutch traditional house.
Located across from the Van Gogh Museum, the Bols House is equipped with ultra-modern technology and offers travelers the chance to experience the history and charm of Bols liquor through the five senses. Both liquor lovers and regular tourists can taste a variety of cocktails free of charge. The Bols House is a must-see attraction. Address Paulus Potterstraat 14, 1071 CZ Amsterdam
