Introduction

The Handbag Museum showcases the history of handbags and luggage in Western culture over the past 500 years and is the only museum of its kind in Europe. Its collection includes over 5,000 items such as wallets, handbags, suitcases, makeup cases, shoes, hats and other accessories, including classic designs from 15th-century Holland and unique works by modern designers. This makes the Handbag Museum one of the top 10 fashion museums in the world. Handbags are not only a symbol of fashion and personality but also a sign of a girl becoming a woman. Hendrikje Ivo, a Dutch antique dealer, is a leading collector of handbags and luggage, with her collection of over 2,000 objects housed in the Museum. From her first small leather bag with a mother-of-pearl inlayed tortoise shell to the famous limited edition handbags from Chloe, Balenciaga, Dior, Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Hermes and Kelly made specifically for celebrities, everything is here. The Museum also features many of her other handbags and luggage made of different materials, styles, and purposes, all of which are stunning. Its gorgeous collection will make any woman's heart skip a beat. This is the world's largest Handbag Museum and deserves a visit.
