Introduction

The Amsterdam Museum is a treasure trove showcasing the history of Amsterdam. It displays valuable collections ranging from architectural models, maps to paintings, and archaeological discoveries, vividly narrating Amsterdam's development from a small medieval town to a modern metropolis. Originally, the building was the site of the Municipal Orphanage until it was converted into a museum in 1975. In the Amsterdam Museum, visitors can enjoy a rich and diverse collection, spanning from medieval to contemporary works. The Civic Guard Gallery is the only public museum street in the world, showcasing classic portraits of the Amsterdam Civic Guard and is a must-see for tourists. Additionally, the Amsterdam Museum gift shop offers various souvenirs and gifts for visitors to choose from. From March 15, 2013, to June 29, 2014, the "Van Oostsanen, Master of a forgotten art" exhibition was held at the Amsterdam Museum. Van Oostsanen was one of the earliest artists revered in Amsterdam. This first retrospective exhibition brought together masterpieces from the Amsterdam Museum, the Akma Municipal Museum, and the Akma St. Lawrence Church, presenting a grand exhibition for the first time in the world.
