Introduction
Located in the center of Tbilisi, the square was originally built in the 19th century during the period of the Russian Empire and was then called Erivan Square. During the Soviet period, it was renamed Lenin Square, but after Georgia declared independence in 1991, it was renamed to its current name. The Lenin statue that once stood in the square has been replaced by the Saint George slaying the dragon column. To the east of the square is the old town of Tbilisi from before the 19th century, surrounded by buildings built during the Russian Empire and Soviet periods, including the Tbilisi City Hall, Georgian National Museum, and Marriott Hotel. The style of all these buildings is coordinated with each other, forming a unique skyline. There are many attractions around the square, with convenient transportation, making it suitable for tourists to visit. Address Freedom square 4a, Tbilisi 0105
