Introduction
The popularity of Arles as a tourist destination is thanks to the works of the Impressionist painter Vincent van Gogh. During his 15-month stay in the ancient city of Arles, Van Gogh created 300 oil paintings, the majority of which featured sunflowers. The sunflower fields of Arles are mainly located on both sides of the Rhône River in the northern suburbs of the city, and visitors need to rent a car and drive to see these beautiful flower fields. Although sunflowers can be found in many places in the southern part of France, the sunflowers of Arles have become the most famous thanks to Van Gogh's creations.
