Introduction

Königsallee is one of the world's most elegant shopping streets. It has a beautiful canal in the center and chestnut tree-lined boulevards on both sides. According to legend, Prussian King William IV once paraded here and the angry citizens threw horse dung at him, which enraged the king. To apologize, the street was renamed Königsallee, meaning King's Avenue. The western side of the avenue is a banking district and home to major bank branches in western Germany. The eastern side features upscale commercial areas, with boutique stores offering fashionable luxury clothing, jewelry, porcelain, and antique auctions.
