Introduction
Berlin Zoo is one of the oldest and most famous zoos in Germany, founded in 1844. It covers an area of 34 hectares and houses over 1,500 species and more than 17,500 animals, including some of the world's leading animal species. The zoo is home to rare animals such as giant pandas and has been the birthplace of the polar bear celebrity, Knut. In addition to the animals, visitors can also visit the adjacent aquarium.
