Introduction

Humboldt University of Berlin was founded in 1810 and originated from the "unity of research and teaching" concept of its founders, the Humboldt brothers (von Humboldt). It is the first modern university in the world with a focus on research and teaching. It is known as the "mother of modern universities" (Mutter aller modernen Universitäten). The main campus is located in the former Prince Heinrich Palace (Palais des Prinzen Heinrich). On the second floor of the main building, you will see portraits of a series of Nobel laureates who were teachers and scholars at Humboldt University, including Einstein, Planck, and others.

Located in the center of Bodhi Tree Street, it takes about a 10-minute walk from Brandenburg Gate to reach it. The nearest bus stops are for route 100 and route 200.
