Introduction

A monument group, located on the former site of the Nazi Propaganda Ministry, is shaped like waves composed of coffins when viewed from a slightly higher place. 2711 concrete cubes are neatly arranged on this open ground, demonstrating the courage of the German people to face history. This massive cement forest was designed by Jewish architect Peter Eisenman, aiming to commemorate the innocent Jewish souls who died unjustly in World War II. The design of the monument has rich symbolic meanings, representing a departure from the original order due to human factors. Placing such an important memorial for the victims just a hundred meters away from the German National Parliament is a testament to Germany's sincere and profound reflection on the war. This monument is not only built for the surviving Jews, but also for the collective memory of the German people themselves.
