Introduction
Theresienwiese is a site located in the Ludwigsvorstadt-Isarvorstadt district of Munich, covering an area of approximately 420,000 square meters. The name of the lawn comes from Ludwig I's wife, Therese, as they celebrated their wedding here in 1810. Since then, the Oktoberfest beer festival has been held here annually to commemorate the historic event. Additionally, one of Germany's largest flea markets takes place here every April.
