Introduction
The Banja Bashi Mosque, built in 1576, is an architectural reminder of the Ottoman rule in Sofia, Bulgaria. Its name, "Banja Bashi" in English, literally means "many baths," which is a unique feature of the mosque. The construction of the mosque utilizes natural thermal springs, and one can see steam rising from vents along the walls. The mosque is also famous for its large dome with a diameter of 15 meters. Additionally, the mosque features a minaret. Currently, the Banja Bashi Mosque is the only active mosque in Sofia and serves as a witness to the Ottoman era in Bulgaria.
