Introduction

The small bell tower located next to the entrance of the Salzburg Museum may not be very large or visually appealing, but it has a long history, dating back to the late 17th century during the Paris-Lodron administration. After undergoing extensive renovations, the bell tower was reactivated in 2011. It features 35 bells of different sizes arranged in three octaves. Every day at 7 am, 11 am, and 6 pm, visitors can hear the performance of Mozart's "Don Giovanni" serenade. To visit the bell tower, guests need to join a guided tour within specific hours, which takes approximately 45 minutes. It offers a unique experience, where visitors can listen to the guide's explanations while ascending the ancient stairs and reaching the top floor to admire the view and the beautiful bell sounds. It is recommended not to bring young children or elderly people with limited mobility or disabilities to ensure safety. The guide will advise everyone to maintain a safe distance when the bell mechanisms are in operation to avoid any injuries.
