Introduction

This is the house that Mozart lived in, often referred to as the "Figaro House" because it is where he composed the opera "The Marriage of Figaro." Although Mozart was born in Salzburg, his memorial museum in Vienna was where he spent most of his life and had the height of his musical career. The 6-story old-fashioned house was built from 1784 to 1787, and Mozart and his family lived on the second floor. Visitors can see the furniture where Mozart lived, ate, and taught young Beethoven on the second floor. The Mozart Memorial Museum, which opened to the public in 2006, displays valuable relics such as scores and portraits for people to gain a deeper understanding of the life and creative achievements of this music genius.
