Introduction
The MUMOK Museum of Modern Art, established in 1962 by the Ludwig Foundation, is one of the largest museums of contemporary art in Central Europe. It is a perfect place for art enthusiasts to gain comprehensive knowledge about international and Austrian avant-garde art. The museum building itself is a contemporary work of art, composed of enclosed gray stones, serving as a source of inspiration for contemporary artists. MUMOK houses over 9,000 pieces of artwork, representing various modern and contemporary art movements, including modernism, pop art, actionism, and Viennese actionism. As the center of contemporary art in Vienna, MUMOK attracts many young people. In the summer, there are often young people sitting on benches in the square, reading, painting, sleeping or daydreaming. Visitors can also enjoy a beer at the café on the ground floor of the museum, sitting on a bench and observing the hustle and bustle of people, experiencing the modern, youthful and vibrant atmosphere of Vienna, an ancient European city.
