Introduction

Leopold Museum is one of the famous museums in Vienna, the capital of Austria. It houses the most extensive collection of modern Austrian art, with a focus on works by representative artists such as Egon Schiele. Founded by Mr. Rudolf Leopold and Ms. Elisabeth Leopold, the museum has gathered over 5,000 exhibits over the past 50 years. In 1994, the museum received support from the Republic of Austria and the Austrian National Bank, and was established as the Leopold Museum Private Foundation. It officially opened in 2001. The museum's collection primarily focuses on Austrian art from the first half of the 20th century, including important works by Egon Schiele and Gustav Klimt, showcasing the gradual transition from Viennese Secession and Neue Künstlervereinigung to Expressionism. Additionally, major artworks from 19th and 20th century Austria are exhibited as historical background. Notably, the Leopold Museum boasts the world's most extensive collection of Egon Schiele's works.
