Introduction
Lugang Tianhou Temple is one of the temples in Taiwan that enshrine the statue of Mazu, the founding goddess of Meizhou ancestral temple. Meizhou ancestral temple originally had six statues, one of which was brought by our ancestors, while the other five were destroyed during the Cultural Revolution. In Lugang, a town once famous for trade and ports, the goddess Mazu, the guardian deity of fishermen, holds a very important position and significance, and is relied upon as a spiritual belief by the local people. Lugang Tianhou Temple is one of the three major historical sites in Lugang. Every year from the lunar New Year to the 23rd day of the third lunar month, the temple square resounds with lively percussion music. In addition to admiring the statue of Mazu, the architectural style of the temple is also unique. The main structure adopts a courtyard-style architecture with three entrances, two corridors, and two guardian dragons. The intricate and magnificent eight trigrams net vault in the Sanchuan Hall is particularly eye-catching. Address No.430, Zhongshan Road, Yushun Village, Lugang Township, Changhua County
