Shi Yusan Scenic Area, Unique Umbrella-Shaped Rock Formations

Chenggong Township, Taitung County
Limestone raised by coastal erosion
4.3

Introduction

"Shi Kongbi" is a coastal headland located about 10 kilometers north of Chenggong Town. It is approximately one kilometer long and extends into the sea. On the headland, there is a landmark called the Balanced Rock, where a slender rock hangs upwards, supporting a larger rock, forming a special umbrella-like balance structure. Due to the different textures of the rocks above and below, with the upper part being hard coral reef rocks and the lower part being slightly weaker gravel rocks, a shape with a finer bottom and a coarser top has been formed through long-term erosion. The scenery here is beautiful, making it a great place for photography and sightseeing. On the west side of the road, there is also a large volume of limestone column, which is called "Man Rock" due to its unique shape, often leaving a deep impression on people.
