The terrain here extends north and south, and except for the coastal plain, most of it is mountainous, with the highest altitude of about 2000 meters. The climate is a tropical monsoon climate. Most of the residents in the township are a mix of Han and indigenous people, with a ratio of 2:1. Taimali Township has various rich agricultural products, such as golden needles, hibiscus flowers, loquats, custard apples, pomelos, tea leaves, dragon fruits, and betel leaves. Among them, the lily family plant "golden needle" is the most famous, with strong adaptability and mainly growing within the altitude range of 700-1000 meters. Although golden needles are common throughout Taiwan, in the Huatung Mountains, Taimali Township's Jinzhen Mountain, Fuli Township's Liushishi Mountain, and Yuli Town's Chike Mountain are the three representatives of Taiwan.
