Introduction

The Xuanzang Temple in Taiwan was built in 1965 and is located at No. 1, Qinglonggang, Shuishe Village, Yuchi Township, Nantou County, right by the famous Sun Moon Lake. The temple was established to commemorate the Tang Dynasty monk Xuanzang's journey to the Western Regions to obtain Buddhist scriptures and his contributions to the promotion of Buddhism and Chinese culture. The temple is situated in a favorable location, facing the La Lu Island and backed by the Qinglong Mountain, and is considered to occupy an auspicious site known as "the dragon playing with a pearl." The Xuanzang Temple has two levels, with one housing the relics of Xuanzang and the other enshrining a golden statue of Shakyamuni Buddha.
