Introduction

Annan District is located south of the Sihcao Bridge and is known for its wetland landscapes. In fact, the area is rich in flora and fauna, serving as a wintering ground for the black-faced spoonbills and a breeding area for the stilts, with the highest population in Taiwan. It is the first protected area designated for a single bird species in Taiwan and also one of the most diverse and well-preserved areas for coastal mangroves. Exploring the area offers a unique ecological journey, taking a boat tour along the Tainan River. Riding on a bamboo raft, wearing a conical hat, navigating through the green corridors of the mangroves is like being in a forest maze or an Amazon adventure.
