Introduction
Kenting National Forest Recreation Area, located in Hengchun Township, Pingtung County, Taiwan, is a tropical forest area at an altitude of about 230 to 300 meters. It has high coral reefs and limestone formations, as well as a rich variety of bird species. From August to the following spring, various birds such as red-tailed shrike, crested serpent eagle, grey-faced buzzard, and oriole can be seen here, creating a beautiful ecological landscape.
The recreation area features many unique geological formations, with the most famous one being the Coral Cave. Formed by coral reef rocks, this natural cave reaches a depth of 8 meters and is adorned with ancient stalactites, truly breathtaking. In addition, the Ocean View Tower is another must-visit attraction. With six floors and a seaside location, it offers panoramic views of the Taiwan Strait, Bashi Channel, and the Pacific Ocean. Visitors can also enjoy a distant view of the Eluanbi Lighthouse, the southernmost point of Taiwan. It is an ideal spot for those who enjoy gazing into the distance from a higher point.
