Introduction
Hamaxing is an ancient place name on the shore of Gushan Harbor, facing Qijin Island across the sea. Originally developed by the Japanese as a new coastal area, this piece of land was called "Hamasen" in Japanese. In 1900, the Japanese built a train station here and laid a main coastal railway line. Today, the office of Kaohsiung Port Station has moved here and become the Takao Railway Museum. The museum perfectly preserves the original appearance of the office and displays many small objects related to railways, as if people were still working here yesterday. Outside the station, facilities such as railways, dispatch stations, and steam locomotives are still preserved, allowing people to look back at the prosperous scene of Kaohsiung Port's railway freight in the 1960s and 1970s. The original railway has been transformed into a pedestrian and bicycle path, with lush green grass and blue sky reflecting each other, creating a clear and beautiful scenery. In short, Hamaxing is a place worth visiting, where you can experience the historical culture and beautiful scenery of this area.
