Introduction
Sun Yat-sen University is one of the few higher education institutions in Taiwan located by the sea. The campus boasts charming views of red brick buildings against the backdrop of the blue sea, attracting many students who choose to spend their university years here. Students can also participate in diving sports courses offered by the school in nearby waters and obtain an international diving license.
In front of the school gates is Xizi Bay, a major tourist attraction in Kaohsiung City. The "Lovers' Bench" between the school and the beach attracts many student couples who snuggle here, enjoying the beautiful sea views and romantic sunsets. At dusk, many tourists also come here to admire the "Sunset in Xizi Bay," which has become one of the "Eight Scenic Spots of Kaohsiung."
The Xizi Bay Beach in front of the campus is a great place for leisure and entertainment for the people of Kaohsiung, built in 1975. In addition, Chiang Kai-shek's former residence and his car are also located on the campus, now transformed into a small art museum and open to the public for free.
