Introduction
Golden Lotus Square is located between Avenida do Dr. Rodrigo Rodrigues, Avenida do Conselheiro Ferreira de Almeida, and Avenida da Amizade in Macau's new peninsula. In celebration of Macau's sovereignty transfer in 1999, the Central People's Government of the People's Republic of China presented a sculpture called "The Flourishing Lotus". The enormous sculpture on the square weighs 6.5 tons, stands 6 meters tall, and has a maximum diameter of 3.6 meters for the flower part. There is also a smaller sculpture with a diameter of 1 meter and a height of 0.9 meters, currently displayed at the Macau Handover Gifts Museum.
