Introduction

The church was originally built by Spanish people in a simple Southern European style. The priests even used palm leaves to cover the roof to prevent storm damage. When the strong wind blew, the palm leaves swayed in the wind, resembling the beard of a dragon. Local Chinese people called it "Dragon-beard Temple". Later, the pronunciation changed in Cantonese and it became known as "Long Son Temple".
