Introduction

The Mercy House building, located in the historic center of Macau, was constructed in the mid-18th century and underwent multiple renovations before being completed in its present form in 1905, showcasing neoclassical architectural style. Due to its historical and cultural value, it was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2005. The building is owned by the renowned charity organization Mercy House and houses the Mercy House Museum, accessible through a side alley on the left. The museum displays a collection of precious artifacts from the private collection of Mercy House's Chairman, Fernando Chui, as well as a full-body portrait, remains, and funerary items of the founder of Mercy House and the first Catholic bishop of Macau, Domingos Lam. It provides visitors with the opportunity to delve into the history and culture of Macau.
