Introduction
The Heart Sutra Forest was completed in 2005. It is the world's largest outdoor wooden Buddhist scripture group, located in Ngong Ping. It is one of the newest and most zen-like attractions in the area. The attraction consists of 38 giant rosewood pillars arranged in the shape of the infinity symbol (∞), symbolizing the perpetuity of life. Each pillar is engraved with a section of the Heart Sutra, but the tallest pillar is left empty, symbolizing the essence of "form is emptiness, emptiness is form" in the scripture. The calligraphy was written by the renowned Hong Kong scholar, Jao Tsung-I. Address Lantau Island Ngong Ping, Hong Kong
Transportation After visiting Baolian Temple and Tian Tan Buddha, follow the signs to "Tea Garden" and walk along the hiking path for 15 minutes from the entrance. After passing through the Heart Sutra Forest, take the small path to reach the third section of the Phoenix Trail to climb to the top of Phoenix Mountain.
