Introduction

Kellie's Castle is located 40 kilometers from Ipoh city. Although it is not in the city center, it is a place that tourists can visit when they come to Ipoh. In 1915, William Kellie Smith began planning and building this extraordinary castle. The castle is magnificent, with six floors, Roman-style columns, and Moorish arches. The interior of the castle features grand columns and a luxurious wine cellar, and it even has Malaysia's first elevator.
Despite the extraordinary design and construction, the castle was never completed. After World War I, William ordered the construction of an Indian temple near the castle and a tunnel to connect the two buildings. Unfortunately, before this project could be finished, William passed away and the construction was abandoned.
Over time, the castle became a ruin and rumors of various eerie stories circulated. However, the government eventually cleared the site and opened it to brave visitors. The castle holds many secrets waiting to be explored, and the design of the road adds to its mysterious and romantic allure. Local residents say that despite the many stories of ghosts and evil spirits, the castle has a unique appearance that even Malaysians enjoy visiting and taking photos of during the day.
