Introduction

The Vietnamese government has constructed the world's largest dragon-shaped bridge to celebrate the 38th anniversary of the liberation of Da Nang. This bridge, spanning 545 feet, is the only bridge in Southeast Asia built with a single steel arch. The dragon-shaped bridge, modeled after the dragons of the Ly Dynasty, is adorned with over 2,500 LED lights. The construction of this bridge took four years and cost a staggering $85,000,000, allowing multiple lanes of traffic to pass simultaneously. The dragon bridge has the ability to breathe fire and shoot water into the air during festivals and special events. The opening ceremony of the bridge was attended by several dignitaries and officials of Da Nang, including Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, Minister of Transport Dinh La Thang, and Nguyen Ba Thanh. The decision-making of Da Nang's leaders and the collective efforts of the local people have made this achievement possible. In his speech, the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized the government’s support for Da Nang to become an economic and cultural center, leading the economic development of both the central and central highland regions as well as the entire country. The bridge is also considered as one of the most important transportation hubs connecting the city center with the Son Tra and Ngu Hanh Son coastal districts.
