Introduction

The bridge was initially built by the Japanese to facilitate the connection between the two banks of the river. However, it was later renovated by the Chinese and turned into a landmark. Sculptures of monkeys and dogs were placed at the two ends of the bridge, as it was believed to have started construction in the Year of the Monkey and completed in the Year of the Dog. At night, the bridge is illuminated, casting a red glow over the bridge and river, creating a more exotic atmosphere than during the day.
