Introduction
Vietnam National Museum, established on August 23, 1979, was formerly known as the Blanchard de la Brosse Museum (1929-1956) and the Saigon Vietnam National Museum (1956-1975). The museum aims to showcase Vietnam's history and culture and has undergone multiple expansions. It now serves as a museum that integrates ethnic features, southern culture, and Asian cultures. The exhibits are divided into two main categories: the first part showcases the cultural history from approximately 500,000 years ago to August 1945 before the establishment of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, while the second part displays ancient artworks with a focus on the distinctive features of the Southern region of Vietnam and other Asian countries.
