Introduction

The city of Acre is almost surrounded by ancient city walls, although only a small portion remains. Within this section of the wall, there is a National Museum of Ethnology, which visitors can enter with a ticket. Walking along the wall, especially near the seaside, there are several sections that have been converted into small inns or restaurants, offering a romantic setting to admire the beautiful sea view from the railing. The wall has two gates, with the east gate also known as the "Land Gate" and the south gate as the "Sea Gate". In 1912, the Acre Lighthouse was built in the southwest corner of the city walls.
